need to know at go slo.
I’ve never been to Pilates before, what do I wear? What do I need to bring?
We’re all about being in the slō lane, so wear comfortable clothes to move in. Please note that we don’t allow zippers on the apparatus, long hair is to be tied back and non-slip socks worn. If you don’t have non-slip socks, we have these for purchase in the studio. You can bring a towel and some water to all classes. If you are attending Slō Moves Matwork, bring your own mat with you.
How do I get started?
We recommend the First Moves Lesson Package to get you started. You get 3 Private Lessons with your own teacher, giving you a chance to understand the concepts and exercises of the Pilates Method. Even if you have Pilates experience, the First Moves Lesson Package introduces you to the Classical Equipment and the Go Slō way of training from the get-go.
How often should I attend?
To really create a long-term movement habit, we recommend attending multiple times during the week - as much as you can! This can be a mixture of classes, including Private or Duet Lessons as well as small group classes such as Matwork Moves.
How long do lessons last?
Private and Duet Lessons last for 1 hour. Matwork Moves lasts for 55 minutes. This gives you 5 minutes to clean and tidy your workspace, ready for the next class.
I have an injury, what class is best for me?
We do what is best for you. Once you have completed your First Moves Lessons, you can decide with your teacher what your next moves are going to be. Every injury is different and some are more complex than others, which means our support during the early days at Go Slō is going to be very important to your movement recovery. You can combine Private or Duet Lessons with small group classes or simply continue with Private Lessons before you feel ready to move to small group classes. We will work with each individual to do what is best for them in every situation.
I’m coming after work. Do you have a change room?
Yes, we have a change room and bathroom within the studio.
