      <image:caption>Owner Jess has been teaching Pilates for close to 10 years in Perth, Western Australia. In 2018, she took the opportunity to teach internationally, travelling to Europe, the USA, Asia and Australia to teach and attend conferences and workshops. Along the way Jess met some profound teachers, becoming friends and mentors who have influenced her style and capability as a Pilates and mobility teacher. Jess is invested in understanding the history and philosophy of the Pilates method as taught by Joseph Pilates and is known to slip some interesting information into her teaching. Jess has recently completed training in Functional Range Conditioning and is a certified FRC Mobility Specialist (FRCms) and is offering this service at Go Slō Studio. Jess comes from a background in classical Saxophone, having played with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and for guest artists such as Ennio Morricone. These days, she is quite happy practicing her ukulele. Jess is currently studying a Master of Education through the University of Western Australia with her research focussing on professional practice of Pilates teaching and education in Australia.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Pilates Teacher Hi! I'm Allyssa and I have been teaching in the Pilates world around 5 years now, although I’ve been a fan for around 8 years. I have always been an active person and throughout my career and my own health journey I have developed a deep interest in the complexity of the human body. I really enjoy teaching movement and educating my clients from a whole body ecosystem approach. I have seen much more profound results in my clients teaching this way as I'm a big believer of everything working together. Nothing works alone! I am also a certified Scar Tissue Therapist which I didn't expect to fall into but I really love it. I'm a home body so in my spare time you can find me cooking (I'm always eating something..), reading and hanging out with my family and dog. Music is pretty important too (I do enjoy going down a good music rabbit hole haha) and I love getting outdoors whether it's in the garden, camping or going for a bush walk.       <image:caption>Pilates Teacher Penny loves watching bodies move. With a background in evolutionary biology and zoology, she has transitioned to studying two-legged vertebrates! She fell in love with Pilates 12 years ago when she wanted something different to the competitiveness of her other loves: swimming and netball.  Interest in the intricacies of how a human body worked piqued when she sustained a shoulder injury. Pilates was everything to her then. Mindfulness. Releasing. Mobilising. Strengthening. (Rehabilitation). Penny wanted to do for others what her Pilates teachers had done for her. So, she changed everything to be an instructor about 5 years ago.  So here she is. At GoSlō. Doing that. Because she WANTS to.  There were some detours along the way: sustainability and environmental work, a brief eco-friendly catering business... little tip: if you need to distract her from all the work you’re doing, talk about her doggies!</image:caption>

I made the decision to teach Pilates after a sedentary lifestyle and finance job crushed my soul! (haha!) Since my life overhaul, I have been studying Exercise and Sports Science will continue as a student in 2021.  I believe in a good cross train, with mine consisting of weight training and Pilates.
